SHIFT is designed to engage teens in leading an initiative to demonstrate that healthier foods should be advertised, available, and affordable in all communities and that there should be relatively less marketing of unhealthy foods. The SHIFT website was created to support a communications research study that is being conducted by the African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network (www.AACORN.org) based at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. This site is managed and operated by the African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network staff, which includes the SHIFT project director, academic researchers, and high school students who will generate updates, announcements and resources for the site. Your participation on the website is voluntary, which means you can choose whether or not to participate on the site. This website page is open to the public. Individuals participating on this site may choose to share information with other groups not associated with the SHIFT initiative; therefore we cannot protect your confidentiality. By participating on this website, you signify your consent to and agreement with our terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not participate on our website. If you have any questions contact Vikki Lassiter, African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network Executive Director and SHIFT Director via email or phone (215) 746-0360.
